2018 CTO-Dixie Decoy Youth Art Contest

Here's a fun project for you to get involved with your kids!

CTO Texas is promoting Family Heritage by having parents, mentors or guardians partner with your kids in a fun art contest. We have teamed up with Dixie Decoys for youth participants and their families to paint a duck decoy and be recognized at our Texas State Banquet and Youth Benefit on April 27th!

So here's how it works-

Your family purchases a decoy for $20, that is the complete kit. Shipping is around $8. You will then paint the decoy together in your own time or during one of our CTO skills night events. Once the decoy is painted, you will take photos showing of all sides of the decoy and submit photos by April 15 for judging. On the night of the benefit, bring your decoy as your one child/one adult admission  to our 9th Annual - CTO Texas State Youth Benefit  on April 27th at the Chandelier of Gruene in Gruene. Our CTO Directors and Outfitters will select the top 10 decoys to be live auctioned that evening during the event to help raise support in our Call for a Cause auction. All other contestant decoys will be added to our silent auction to help raise scholarship funds. The youth participant, boy or girl, whose decoy is chosen as the winner of the contest, will win a rifle or shotgun, presented the night of the event!

CTO Texas Directors and Outfitters hope that this fun art project will provide some fun entertainment for families and  increase one-on-one time, or even mentors and their protege.

Official Rules:
  1. Purchase a Dixie Decoy of your choice (We have 18 ordered and most are already spoken for, but check with your local Outfitter before ordering to see if they have some in stock).  Use code TEAMCTODIXIE for a 5% discount to purchase at least 1 Heritage Series decoy from https://www.dixiedecoys.com/collections/heritage-series-decoys You can choose from the single kit for either puddle ducks or diver ducks group. Also you can pick whichever species you want to paint.
  2. Youth participants in the contest must paint the decoy under the direction of a parent or adult guardian, with the adult supervising in the project.
  3. Once the decoy is painted and complete, take pictures of all sides of the decoy and email or text to the state office. Be sure to include the youth's name and contact info when sending in photos.
  4. Photos of the decoy must be submitted for judging by April 15th.
