Trinity River Ranch - Boys Squirrel & Hog Hunt - Youth

PARENTS:

This Squirrel/Hog Hunt Outing will take place over the four-day, President's Day Weekend, with kids being out Monday Feb 20th, so please keep that in mind. If schools use President's Day (2/20/23) to make up ice and snow days, we will return on that Sunday, 2/19/23.

REGISTRATION OPENS 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO OUTING. If outing registration is full, please sign up for waiting list to be given priority for the next outing. If your child has been on an outing in the last 30 days, please hold off registering to give other kids who haven't hunted an opportunity. 

Who can participate: This youth only outing is for young men ages 7-18 from any chapter as long as a parent or guardian can get the child to the drop off points. Kids can be dropped off directly at the ranch for this outing.

Details: We will be hunting squirrels, calling them within shooting range hunting with small caliber firearms, such as .410 and 20 gauge shotguns. During the hunt we will also be hunting hogs, racoons and varmints, possibly calling coyotes as well.

Where: This outing will be at the Trinity River Ranch near Oakwood, TX. Rides to the ranch are available from San Antonio. 

What to bring: Participants will need a current youth hunting license (available at Academy, Walmart, HEB, etc. for $7). CTO has all the gear and firearms needed for these outings. Youth participants will need to bring clothes, toiletries, headlamp, sleeping bag and pillow.
A detailed packing list will be sent out with the liability paperwork.

Cost: The cost for this outing is $50 for CTO Members and $70 for non-members. Scholarship funds are available for those in need.
